Am I allowed to fly there?

Basic rule

Allowed with conditions

Flying is allowed, but with conditions you need to know before you travel.

You may fly drones under 100 g without a geolocation module freely. From 100 g, only drones for professional use may in principle fly over Monaco; exceptions are granted by the Minister of State.

Operator registration

Depends on drone or operation

Under 100 g without a tracking module you are free; from 100 g you need an annual operator agrément from the Direction de l'Aviation Civile via FlySafe and also a permit for every flight.

Your EU registration is not automatically valid here.

Competency certificate
Your EU competency certificate is not automatically recognised here. Whether you need a separate one isn't in the country rules – please check with the authority.
Insurance

Depends on drone or operation

For the agrément from 100 g you must provide proof of liability insurance.

Remote ID & marking
No information – please check with the authority.
Maximum altitude
No information – please check with the authority.
Special rules

For tourists

Monaco is not an EU member; the German operator ID and EU certificates do not apply there. In principle only drones on professional missions may fly over the principality, exceptions are granted by the Minister of State – so realistically do not plan a holiday flight from 100 g. For major events the airspace is also closed completely.
