Am I allowed to fly there?
Allowed with conditions
Flying is allowed, but with conditions you need to know before you travel.
Required
Drones from 250 g and all drones with data-collection equipment (e.g. a camera) must be recorded with the aviation authority. First submit a technical conformity declaration via eOtinish.kz, then apply via eLicense.kz with an electronic signature.
Your EU registration is not automatically valid here.
Unclear
An insurance requirement for recreational flights is not officially documented.
For tourists
You can bring a drone into the country without a licence, but flying without permission risks a fine, detention and confiscation, according to the UK Foreign Office. For registration, foreigners must provide a notarised proof of ownership in English with an official translation; there is no separate procedure for tourists. Do not photograph military sites, border areas, airports, government buildings or security forces; Baikonur can only be entered with prior authorisation.
