Das im 16. Jahrhundert errichtete Jagdschloss Kranichstein liegt im Nordosten von Darmstadt. Es diente den Landgrafen von Hessen-Darmstadt als Jagdresidenz. Heute beherbergt die historische Schlossanlage ein Museum zur Jagdgeschichte sowie ein Hotel. Zum Ensemble gehören der Schlosspark und der nahe gelegene Backhausteich.
