Travel check
Taking your drone on holiday? Pick your destination – Hoverpoint puts together from the country rules what you need to know and do before you travel.
Denmark
EASA areaLast checked: October 5, 2026
Am I allowed to fly there?
Allowed
Required
Required from 250 g or with a camera or sensor; with your German operator ID from the LBA you are already registered in Denmark.
Your registration from your EASA state of residence is valid here – you don't need a second one.
Required
Liability insurance is mandatory for every drone that is not a toy – including camera drones under 250 g. For privately used drones under 250 g with a maximum of 19 m/s only the minimum cover is waived, not the insurance; check that your policy covers Denmark.
For tourists
You fly with your German operator ID and your EU competency certificate. Keep to the Danish distances from airfields (8 km for instrument, 4 km for visual airfields, 2 km from rescue helicopter landing sites) and check the zones in advance on the map at droneregler.dk/dronezoner.

Batteries on the plane
- Spare batteries in hand luggage only – each one protected against short circuits (terminal caps, original packaging or its own bag).
- Up to 100 Wh: no approval needed.
- Over 100 up to 160 Wh: only with the airline's approval, at most 2 spare batteries.
- Over 160 Wh: not allowed on passenger aircraft.
Enter your battery's Wh – they are printed on the battery.
Pick your airline to see its rules for drones, batteries and power banks.
Airlines may be stricter – pick your airline below to see its rules.
