Further rules

  • In Seychelles, every drone from 200 grams must be registered with the aviation authority SCAA (Civil Aviation Regulations 2017); this is done online via the SCAA drone database.
  • There is no reliable information on a legal insurance requirement.
  • The SCAA sets no fixed maximum in metres: the drone may not fly higher than the surrounding buildings, structures or trees, and you must always keep it in sight.
  • Near the airports of Mahé (Seychelles International) and Praslin you may only fly with SCAA approval; approach and departure paths and helipads, including on La Digue, are off limits. Without approval, flights over private property, towns, groups of people and events are also not allowed. Whether protected areas such as the Vallée de Mai need a separate permit is not officially confirmed; ask locally.
  • Registration is done online and can be completed before the trip; the SCAA does not state a processing time.
  • According to the SCAA, night flights are not allowed.

This overview is not legal advice and not an official statement — laws change, and we cannot guarantee that every entry is fully up to date. Before your flight, please also check the official source or the local civil aviation authority.
